CHEMISTRY LAB REPORTS

2/17/2012

  1. These are the experiments we have conducted this term:
  2. Fizzy Reactions
  3. Notice Any Changes
  4. Metal Reactions with Acid, Water, and Air
  5. Metal Displacement Reactions: No need for a full lab report. Just complete the experiment sheet, which you can download from this site (see below), complete, and email back to me.
  6. Law of Conservation of Mass

The LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MASS Lab Report must have the following:
  1. Introduction
  2. Objective (which we discussed in class)
  3. Hypothesis (which we discussed in class)
  4. Procedure (which we discussed in class)
  5. Results table (again, you should present this in table form. If you are going to add photos, you need to put captions. If you are going to submit a video, it must not be more than 1 minute long. Upload it to youtube and send the link. YOU MUST EDIT YOU VIDEO AND PUT SUBTITLES EXPLAINING WHAT IS HAPPENING.)
  6. Discussion and Conclusion (which you have to do on your own based on the Guide Questions)

Here are the GUIDE QUESTIONS:
  1. What is a closed system?
  2. Why did we need a closed system to do this experiment?
  3. Why was it important to weight the system before and after the reaction?
  4. Did your results support your hypothesis? Why or why not?
  5. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your participation? Why?
  6. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your partner's participation? Why?
  7. How can you improve the experiment?

EXPERIMENTS 3 AND 4 ARE DUE ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 12 MIDNIGHT. These are short and easy lab reports!
